A step towards a brighter future for Iloilo. CPU and DILG commit to excellence in local governance.
Central Philippine University (CPU) has joined forces with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Iloilo Provincial Office in a collaborative effort to propel excellence in local governance across the province. This strengthened partnership is marked by the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for “Kumbuyahan Version 2.”
Dr. Lenny Rose P. Mucho, Director of Review, Continuing Education, and Consultancy Center represented CPU President, Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, during the MOA signing ceremony.
Kumbuyahan Version 2 signifies an expanded program designed to achieve significant advancements in local governance. It brings together a diverse group of stakeholders, including the Iloilo Provincial Local Governance Resource Center (IPLGRC), Local Resource Institutions (LRIs), National Government Agencies (NGAs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
This collaborative initiative focuses on propelling local governance and development through various means. These include conducting training needs assessments for Local Government Units (LGUs), delivering targeted training programs, fostering knowledge sharing between institutions, and providing technical assistance. By engaging a multitude of stakeholders, Kumbuyahan Version 2 ensures a comprehensive and collaborative approach to local governance.
The program prioritizes key areas such as financial administration and disaster preparedness. This focus underscores the program’s commitment to promoting fiscal discipline, transparency, accountability, and building resilience against calamities within Iloilo’s local government units. This multi-sectoral cooperation signifies a collective drive to propel Iloilo towards excellence in local governance.
