On February 12-13, 2026, Central Philippine University (CPU) participated in the SustainAbility Directions 2026 Summit at the Grand Xing Hotel, Iloilo City with a delegation led by Vice President for Administration Engr. Dany C. Molina, including Atty. Nestle G. Taala, CPU Student Recruitment Officer; Architect Salvador Paparon III; Eldane Gale Pamposa; and representatives from various startups.

CPU set up the Eco-Lifestyle Corner to promote ESG-aligned habits, zero waste practices, composting systems, and sustainable home practices, which featured exhibits from the CPUGAD Technology Business Incubator (TBI), the Sustainable Campus Committee, the Packaging Engineering Department, the Wind Energy R&D Facility, CPU-College of Computer Studies and CPU-College of Hospitality Management.

Eldane Gale Pamposa, Project Technical Assistant I of CPUGAD TBI, said in an interview that through this experience, CPU continues to advance responsible consumption and production while fostering practical solutions and collaborative initiatives. “Indeed, CPU is actively championing sustainability by participating in summits and programs like this,” she added.

The summit highlighted four key themes: Sustainable Built Environment, Sustainable Resource Management, Sustainable Consumption and Production, and Sustainable ESGs covering environmental, social, and governance initiatives. Over the two-day event, participants attended plenary sessions, keynote addresses, and interactive exhibits showcasing sustainable practices, technologies, and businesses.

The CPUGAD TBI exhibit featured five startups, including four student-led initiatives, Kuray Innovations, LECA, PackUp and FeedFrendz, as well as an R&D spin-off led by Engr. Gelvie Lagos, ECE faculty member and project leader of CPUGAD TBI.

The exhibit reaffirmed CPU’s role as an advocate for sustainability, innovation, and responsible consumption in education and community development.
