Central Philippine University (CPU) participated in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding reconstituting the Western Visayas Local Governance Resource Consortium (WVLGRC) during the Local Governance Research Forum x Regional Decentralization Conference (REDECON) 2025 on October 28, 2025, at Sam’s 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.

Representing CPU was Dr. Aries Roda Romallosa, Acting Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension. The MOU formalizes the commitment of member institutions to strengthen research capacity, innovation, and knowledge exchange across the region.

The forum is part of the 34th Local Government Code Month celebration, with the theme “Tatag at Pagkakaisa: Forging Transparent, Participatory, and Accountable Local Governance.” It brought together local leaders, researchers, and partners to promote evidence-based reforms in fiscal decentralization and local governance.

Through its participation, CPU continues its efforts to strengthen research, innovation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that support good governance.
