The Central Philippine University College of Nursing (CPUCN), in partnership with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at the University of California, Davis, conducted a community outreach activity on December 10, 2025, at Uswag Gym in San Isidro, Jaro.
Student volunteers and faculty members arrived as early as 7:30 a.m. to prepare for community members who gathered to receive health services. Several stations were organized inside the gym; each assigned a specific function centered on health education and consultation.
Nursing students, under the guidance of Clinical Instructors, facilitated lectures and health education discussions on assigned diseases. Students from different year levels worked collaboratively, applying classroom knowledge to community-based practice.
A consultation area was provided in coordination with UC Davis, while free medications were distributed through the Pharmacy Community Extension Service Learning Course (CESLC).
The outreach was coordinated by Harley Dela Cruz, CPUCN Outreach Coordinator, with support from the Outreach Students’ Volunteers Society at Central Philippine University, led by its president, Adeo Guillever Gutierrez. The initiative strengthened international academic collaboration while promoting accessible health services and experiential learning for students.
