On January 31, 2026, Central Philippine University’s National Service Training Program (CPU-NSTP) conducted a Leadership Training lecture at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

The program opened with an energizer and community song led by students from stub codes 205 and 198, respectively. This was followed by an invocation led by Ms. Kaela Camarista (stub code 205), the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, and the CPU Alma Mater song. The resource person was then introduced by Ms. Ghezzra Glaire M. Caro, from stub code 202.

The lecture was delivered by Atty. Riego Ferrer L. Garcia, a faculty member of the CPU-College of Agriculture, Resources, and Environmental Sciences (CARES). In his talk, he shared insights on leadership and reflected on his experience as a student leader, having served as CPUR President in A.Y. 2019-2020.

Moreover, he emphasized the importance of integrity, responsibility, and service-oriented leadership, encouraging students to lead by example in both academic and community settings. Atty. Garcia also highlighted the role of discipline and commitment in developing effective leaders who can positively influence others.

An open forum followed, allowing participants to raise questions and seek clarification on the topic discussed.

The program concluded with the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation and a token to the resource person, led by CPU NSTP Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Annalie D. Gilongos, together with CPU NSTP–CWTS Coordinator Ma. Leen C. Gahum. The closing prayer was delivered by Ms. Marriam Lourdes S. Salazar (stub code 202), while the activity was facilitated by the Master of Ceremony, Mrs. Hannah Lee S. Canlas.
