Central Philippine University (CPU), through the National Service Training Program (NSTP), conducted a Lecture-Demonstration and Return-Demonstration on Disaster Preparedness and First Aid on October 4, 2025, participated in by students from both the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programs.
The activity aimed to strengthen students’ awareness, readiness, and practical response skills during emergencies. The initiative also encouraged the value of volunteerism and civic responsibility, core aspects of NSTP training that prepare students to become proactive members of their communities in times of need.

CWTS students take part in an Earthquake and Fire Drill at the Rose Memorial Auditorium (RMA) facilitated by John B. Cobarrubias.
It featured three simultaneous sessions: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training at the University Gym, led by Regin A. Jardio and Cherrymay B. Gersaba; an Earthquake and Fire Drill at the Rose Memorial Auditorium (RMA), facilitated by John B. Cobarrubias; and a First Aid Bandaging Demonstration at the Alumni Promenade Concert Park (APCP), conducted by Luben V. Villarino, Everick Paul S. Bedonia, Lance Angelo V. Baldonado, and Ruben E. Langamon. These simultaneous activities provided a comprehensive learning experience that combined theoretical understanding with practical application.
The said initiatives highlighted the importance of preparedness, presence of mind, and coordinated response in emergency situations. By equipping students with essential life-saving skills and disaster awareness, CPU-NSTP reinforces the university’s commitment to developing responsible, disciplined, and service-oriented Centralians.
