On February 28, 2026, the Central Philippine University National Service Training Program (CPU-NSTP) conducted a symposium on Peace and Security Awareness at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.
The day began with a Christ Emphasis Week (CEW) Convocation led by BGen. Ezra James E. Enriquez (Ret.), centered on the theme “Crucial Decision” based on Acts 16:30-31. In his message, he emphasized the importance of making life-changing decisions grounded in faith and moral conviction.
Following the convocation, the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the CPU Alma Mater Song followed, led by Ms. Mary Rose Libuna from stub code 191. Ms. Alexis Geraliden Caspe from stub code 190 introduced the resource speaker, Ms. Zarmeen Cartagena, Secretariat of the Western Visayas Religious Council. In her talk, Cartagena discussed the importance of fostering a culture of peace, strengthening interfaith dialogue, and encouraging the youth to become active partners in promoting security within their communities.

An open forum was held, allowing participants to raise questions and seek clarification on the topics discussed. An intermission number was then presented by the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) students.
The program concluded with the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation and a token to the resource speaker, led by CPU NSTP Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Annalie D. Gilongos together with 2LT Allan A Tayhon PA (Res). The closing prayer was delivered by Ms. Shazney C. Pormilos from stub code 206.
