On February 8, 2025, the Central Philippine University – National Service Training Program (CPU-NSTP) held a plenary session focused on “Review of Community Dynamics” gathering students from the Civic Welfare and Training Service (CWTS) program. Held at the Rose Memorial Auditorium, the lecture emphasized the complexities of community structures, relationships, and the role of individuals in fostering positive change.

The event began with an invocation led by Mrs. Myla Cañas, which was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and CPU Alma Mater song. Mrs. Ma. Leen C. Gahum, RL, delivered the opening remarks. Afterward, Mrs. Shirley Dario, formally introduced the esteemed resource speaker for the plenary session.

The lecture on “Review of Community Dynamics” was thoroughly delivered by Prof. Chloe Dawn G. Lagarto, RSW, MSSW, Social Welfare Officer VI of DSWD Field Office VI. In her keynote address, Prof. Lagarto shared her experiences on how communities grow, adapt, and respond to external and internal pressures. She also provided valuable insights into how students can apply their learning from the NSTP program in real-world settings, empowering them to create meaningful change in society.

Following the informative lecture, CPU-NSTP Coordinator Prof. Annalie D. Gilongos, RN, MN, along with CPU NSTP-CWTS Coordinator Ma. Leen C.
