On July 11, 2025, members of the CPU Northern California Alumni Association (NorCal AA), dressed in their dazzling uniforms, turned over a grant check amounting to $3,400 to University President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy and Vice President for Finance and Enterprises Dr. Florence Bogacia during the opening night of the CPU Global Reunion held in Toronto, Canada.
Continuing its strong commitment to support the educational needs of poor but deserving students through its “Support-A-Dream” program, NorCal AA awarded a one-time grant-in-aid to 34 recipients for School Year 2025–2026. The grant, now on its fifth year, is supported by 19 generous sponsors—marking the highest number of sponsorships since the program was launched in 2021.
Since its inception, the program has awarded a total of 110 sponsorships, each valued at ₱5,000 annually per student. In addition to the “Support-A-Dream” program, the chapter has also consistently contributed to the God’s Grace Ministry, which benefits CPU work students. These additional funds come from the favorable conversion of US dollars to Philippine pesos. From the current $3,400 grant, at least ₱17,000 is expected to be allocated to the God’s Grace Ministry.
The sponsors for this year’s grants are: Lucia Suchikul, Rodney and Kathy Leyble Kriewall, Pastor Edward and Katherine Pormilos, Pastor Richard and Emineh Pacania, Lee and Girlie Plagata, Ma. Patria Desales, Teresita Pedrola, siblings Pablo and Mildred Cababaan, Jewel Joy Castillon, Pio and Merilyn Go, Clint Ho, Rhodora Mauricio, Rigil and Rebecca Diana, Tomas and Perla Deocampo, DG and Loren Delicana, Willia Tejereso, Alessandro and Jahz Chiappetta, Marina Sampani, and Gina Rivera Ariola.
Notably, the NorCal AA also won the grand prize during the chapters’ talent presentation held on the same night of the Global Reunion Opening.
