Estomo has been a faculty of the university since 2018.

CPU President Dr. Teodoro Robles has appointed Dr. Rene T. Estomo and Mrs. Benjie Ne F. Gallinero, respectively, as Principal and Assistant Principal of the Senior High School Department.

Both of their appointments will be effective on August 1, 2021.

Dr. Estomo’s career in the academe spans 23 years. He spent the first 10 years of his teaching career at the PAREF Westbridge School for Boys. He was the Head of the Math Department (2004-2011) and eventually became the Assistant Principal (2011-2014) and Principal (2014-2018) of the secondary school.

He finished his Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics in 1998 at West Visayas State University as a Center of Excellence for Secondary Teacher Education Program Scholar (CoxExStep scholar).

As one of the chosen scholars for the International Fellowship-Ford Foundation, Estomo pursued a Master’s in Education major in Mathematics at the University of Georgia, United States of America. He graduated in 2011.


Gallinero teaches the subjects Pre-Calculus and Basic Calculus.

Last year, he completed his Ph.D in Science Education major in Mathematics from West Visayas University. He was a Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program Science Education Consortium Component (ASTHRDP-SEC) Scholar.

Estomo has been a faculty of the university since 2018. He teaches undergraduate GE Math, Pre-Calculus, as well as professional and statistics subjects for master’s courses at the Math and Physics Department.

Before being appointed as the new assistant principal, Prof. Gallinero was the Mathematics, Statistics and Physics Subjects Coordinator of SHS, a position she has held since 2016.

She was a college instructor for the Math and Physics Department from 2000-2015. The following year, she moved to SHS where she taught Pre-Calculus and Basic Calculus.

Prof. Gallinero finished Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics in 1998 from the University of the Philippines Visayas. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Education major in Mathematics in CPU.
