On January 16, 2026, the Central Philippine University Junior High School Department celebrated their Math Day 2026 with the theme: “Mathematics and Hope”, led by the Math Circle of the Junior High School Department. The celebration was held in Rose Memorial Auditorium. This celebration commemorates the usage of math beyond the technical uses, inspiring hope and infinite possibilities.

Competitions like quiz bees across different grades level with several sections and puzzle games like Rubik’s cube and Sudoku. The learners also danced and sang in the Sayawit competitions. The logical minds of different learners were tested in a series of games and puzzles, from grades seven to ten. Sections in one grade compete against each other in the quiz bees and the Sayawit competitions, where their love for math is expressed. The learners also played different puzzles like the tower of Hanoi, where learners and competitors stack the rings correctly.

The learners cheered for their respective participants in the competitions, which was expressed in screaming and shouting. They jumped as they saw their friends compete in the field with everything they have as they bring glory to their grade levels and their sections. Hiphop moves were shown during the Sayawit competitions, showing their cool dance moves to the audience. The many competitors of Math Day 2026 showcased their skills and their love for the subject math.

Through this fruitful celebration, it goes to show that math goes beyond the use of numbers and some letters to make an equation. Logic, critical thinking, and swiftness also plays a role in developing one’s numerical skills. To many learners, some answers to the most difficult equations is just in front of them.
