CPU Alumnus Mr. Matt A. Java delivers his talk during the POWER Session.

In partnership with the University Church and CPU Almuni Association, Inc., the CPU Job Placement Office (JPO) conducted a POWER (Pre-employment Orientation for Workforce Entrant’s Readiness) Make-up Session last May 12, 2023, at the CCS AVR for those graduating students who were not able to attend the scheduled orientation last March and April at the Rose Memorial Auditorium (RMA).

During the morning session, two speakers shared enlightening talks that inspired the students who were present at the orientation. The first speaker, the University Chaplain, Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, enlightened the students with the topic “Challenge” by discussing the four core values: Vision, Hard Work, Excellence, and Faith in God. The second speaker, Mr. Albert Jan Matthew Java, shared his motivational experience about what it’s like being an achiever, a professional in the corporate world, and a true-blooded Centralian.

The afternoon session was more educational. The students were taught the things they need to prepare if they enter the corporate world. The first speaker, Ms. Alyssa Hope Joyce Trespecios, discussed “The Resume and Application Letter.” The second speaker, Ms. Shey S. Velasquez, discussed “The Art of the First Impression,” which taught the students how to nail their interviews with mindset and style. The third speaker, Prof. Paige Pagara, prepared an activity where the students assessed their personalities.

CPU Job Placement Office never fails to provide Centralians the best opportunities by conducting pre-employment orientations, which equip the students with enough knowledge and skills before entering the workforce, and job fairs that connect them to the corporate world. JPO helps Centralians excel in any part of the world.
