In a vibrant display of cross-cultural learning and collaboration, Central Philippine University Junior High School (CPU-JHS) and Gyerim Middle School of South Korea held a Closing Ceremony in partnership with the CPU Local and International Linkages and Affiliation Center (CPU LILAC) at the CPU JHS Library. The event marked the successful culmination of meaningful interactions and shared experiences between the two institutions.
The program began on January 5, 2026, with a series of activities that introduced the visiting students to CPU. These included a courtesy call at the CPU JHS Principal’s Office, an orientation session, and a comprehensive campus tour around Central Philippine University, giving the South Korean students a firsthand experience of the university’s environment and culture.
On January 6, students from CPU-JHS and Gyerim Middle School participated in a hands-on Bluetooth Mood Lamp Making activity. The interactive session allowed students to work in small groups to design and assemble their lamps, with each group equipped with at least one Android phone to enable the Bluetooth functions. Notably, the activity had been conducted two years ago but was limited to only two hours, which proved insufficient for completion. This year, the organizers extended the activity to four hours and provided fully prepared kits, ensuring that participants could fully enjoy and complete the project.
The program concluded with a closing message delivered by CPU JHS Principal Assoc. Prof. Charlett B. Dianala, who expressed her gratitude for the partnership with Gyerim Middle School and emphasized the importance of fostering international friendships and cultural understanding through such initiatives.
This collaborative exchange between CPU-JHS and Gyerim Middle School underscores CPU’s continued commitment to strengthening international linkages and providing students with meaningful cross-cultural learning experiences.
