The Central Philippine University – Human Resource Development Office (CPU-HRDO) successfully held a leadership seminar titled “Empowering Supervisors: Fostering Leadership and Team Success” on May 21, 2025, at the Sotogrande Iloilo Hotel Ballroom, Green Meadows Subdivision, Jaro, Iloilo City.

The one-day seminar brought together university administrators, Academic, and Non-Academic Unit Heads for a comprehensive program designed to enhance leadership and management skills within the institution. The event began with registration at 8:00 a.m., followed by the opening prayer and singing of the Philippine National Anthem. A devotional was delivered by Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, Senior Pastor of the University Church.

Dr. Florence P. Bogacia, CPU Vice President for Finance and Enterprises, officially welcomed the participants with an encouraging message that emphasized the importance of leadership rooted in service, accountability, and shared goals.

University President Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy then led the first session titled “Empowerment of Supervisors,” where he underscored the significance of leadership in fostering a productive and values-driven workplace. He highlighted how supervisors play a crucial role in shaping the institutional environment.

Afterward, Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio, CPU Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered a session on “Empowerment for Academic Heads.” In his talk, Dr. Rio encouraged academic heads to serve as mentors, build cohesive academic communities, and continuously pursue initiatives that enhance the quality of education.

A case presentation and open forum led by Dr. Rodel C. Palomar, Director of HRDO, provided a platform for practical learning and discussion. In the afternoon, a workshop session deepened the engagement, followed by participants sharing. The day ended with closing remarks from Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, University President.

The seminar was moderated by Ella Kathrina A. Gutierrez, Career Development Officer of HRDO, who kept the sessions smooth and interactive throughout the event.
