The Academic and Non-Academic Unit Heads attended the seminar conducted by the CPU HRDO.
Central Philippine University, spearheaded by the Human Resource Development Office, conducted an Orientation Seminar for Unit Heads on February 20, 2024 at the Educational Media Center Conference Room. The whole-day program featured a variety of speakers and topics focused on orienting the Unit Heads of the university. It was attended by the officials of the administration, the deans, principals, academic and non-academic heads of the university.
The event started with an Opening Prayer and Devotional Rev. Francis Neil G. Jaland-on, the Director of the Office of Communications. Following this, Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, the University President, delivered the Welcome Remarks, setting a positive tone for the rest of the seminar.
The morning session focused on “Planning, Controlling & Communication” and was led by Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio, Vice President for Academic Affairs. During this time, participants delved into discussions about effective planning, controlling strategies, and communication techniques within the university setting.
An open forum at 11:00 AM allowed participants to engage with the speakers and share their insights and queries, fostering an atmosphere of collaboration.
After the engaging morning session, attendees were treated to a well-deserved lunch break.
The afternoon session began with an energizer to re-energize the participants for the upcoming discussions. After which, Atty. Ina Noelene M. Bernales, the Legal Officer, took the stage to discuss “Employee Discipline Policies & Procedures.” Her comprehensive presentation addressed crucial aspects of maintaining discipline within the workforce.
The day concluded with an open forum and sharing session from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, providing participants with an opportunity to express their thoughts and experiences.
Dr. Florence P. Bogacia, the Vice President for Finance & Enterprises, delivered the Closing Remarks expressing gratitude to the participants and emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and development within the university community.
The event concluded with a Closing Prayer led by Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, the Senior Pastor of the University Church.
Emceed by Mrs. Ella Kathrina Arandela-Gutierrez, the Career Development Officer of HRDO, the seminar was a resounding success, providing valuable insights and fostering a sense of unity among the university unit heads. The HRDO expressed their appreciation to all participants and speakers for their active involvement in making the event a memorable and enriching experience.
