During the first day of the Women and Development Program Year 2 seminar on March 14, 2025, participants gathered at the CPU-GAD TBI Co-Working Space to learn about parental duties, responsibilities, and the services of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Central Philippine University successfully concluded the Women and Development Program Year 2: Empowering Women Through Livelihood Rehabilitation and Holistic Development, a three-part seminar series designed to uplift and equip women with knowledge and practical skills for personal and community transformation, on March 29, 2025.
The program was launched at the CPU-GAD TBI Co-Working Space, College of Engineering Building, where participants learned about parental duties, responsibilities, and the services offered by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Resource speaker Lenore Ravena-Enriquez, RSW, shared her expertise in promoting stronger families and building empowered communities. The first session was held on March 14, 2025.
“This three-part seminar series would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the Review Continuing Education and Consultancy Center (RCECC), CPU Gender and Development Office (GAD), Community Engagement and Service-Learning Center (CESLC), and the School of Graduate Studies (SGS),” shared Pinky E. Lutero-Tongol, Secretary of Review, Continuing Education and Consultancy Center (RCECC).
The second session, held on March 21, 2025, at the Knowledge for Development Center, Henry Luce III Library, focused on women’s health and well-being, with a special emphasis on mental health. Prof. Roselynn Hope F. Cabanos shared invaluable insights on self-care and emotional resilience. Additionally, a reflection activity provided participants with time for personal contemplation and spiritual growth.
“Let us continue working together to champion women’s empowerment in all aspects of life,” Lutero-Tongol added.
The final seminar on Financial Management and Budgeting took place on March 29, 2025, at Audio Visual Room 1, Mary Thomas Building, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Dr. Jet Nillos equipped participants with essential tools and strategies for budgeting, saving, investing, and cultivating a mindset for financial independence.
As the 3-day seminar concludes, participants depart not only with knowledge but also with the confidence and tools needed to make meaningful contributions to their families, communities, and beyond. This initiative serves as a testament to CPU’s commitment to fostering gender equality, capacity building, and inclusive development.
