Dr. Aaron Alfred Lee leads worship through music during the CPU Vespers Worship Service at the University Church.

On January 25, 2026, Central Philippine University (CPU) hosted a soul-stirring Vespers Worship Service at the University Church, featuring gifted musician and returning guest Dr. Aaron Alfred Lee. The evening was filled with heartfelt worship, reflection, and inspirational melodies that uplifted the hearts and spirits of all attendees.

The service opened with a Prelude, followed by a warm welcome and greeting from Engr. Jose Rizaldy Harder, Church Moderator. Engr. Harder expressed gratitude for the gathering and highlighted Dr. Lee’s ministry, which has previously blessed the CPU community. He invited attendees to support Dr. Lee’s work and prayed for God’s presence to fill the service, setting a tone of thanksgiving and celebration.

Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, CPU President, also extended his welcome to the congregation, emphasizing the transformative power of music as a form of worship that draws believers closer to God. He formally introduced Dr. Lee, a world-renowned artist and CPU Honorary Doctor of Music, along with the guest pastors. He encouraged everyone to rejoice, give thanks, and open their hearts to God throughout the evening.

The service continued with an opening prayer led by Pastor Louvel Edson Caspe, Associate Pastor for Outreach, followed by the introduction of the guest musician by Rev. Dr. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, University Church Senior Pastor.

The congregation was then led into Worship Through Music by Dr. Lee, who skillfully played the piano and sang, guiding attendees into a deep spiritual connection. During his Reflection, Dr. Lee spoke about the joy and power of worship through music and the importance of cultivating a personal relationship with Jesus through reading the Bible. He reminded everyone that Scripture is living and active, encouraging them to approach God’s Word as a direct communication from Him that resonates in their hearts.

“The Bible is a song of love written by God for His people. When you read it, remember that these are living words. Read Scripture as if God is speaking directly to you, loving you, and drawing you closer to Him. When that happens, the Word comes alive,” Dr. Lee said.
