This year’s Professorial Chair and Incentive Awardees, together with Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, CPU President; Engr. Dany C. Molina, Vice President for Administration; Dr. Florence P. Bogacia, Vice President for Finance and Enterprises; and Dr. Eden P. Gomez, Chairperson of the PCI Awards Committee, pose for a photo opportunity after the successful ceremony.

On June 18, 2025, Central Philippine University hosted the Professorial Chair and Incentive Awarding Ceremony at the Educational Media Center. Organized by the PCI Awards Committee, the event recognized a total of thirty-five faculty members: 15 as Professorial Chair awardees and 20 as Incentive Awardees.

The ceremony served as a celebration of the faculty’s continued pursuit of excellence in advancing the university’s academic standards and institutional mission. In his opening message, CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the contributions of the awardees.

“On behalf of the CPU Administration, I welcome everyone to the Professorial Chair and Incentive Awarding Ceremony, where we recognize the members of our faculty who have distinguished themselves in the fields they represent as well as contributed to the advancement of knowledge and learning in the various fields and disciplines,” he said. “The awards are supported by special endowments and bear the mark of generous individuals, families, alumni groups, and others from whom they are named after.”

University Church Senior Pastor, Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian served as this year’s speaker. In his message, he extended his warm congratulations to the awardees, commending them for their dedication, hard work, and the meaningful impact they have made in their respective fields and in the life of the University. He shared the story of Gamaliel, a first-century Jewish rabbi and a leader of the Jewish Sanhedrin or the Jewish Supreme Court. Rev. Sian highlighted how Gamaliel was known for his wisdom, discernment, and ability to lead with integrity which are the qualities that educators are likewise called to embody. He reminded the faculty that the true value of recognition lies not in prestige but in its power to inspire others and uplift the community through education.

Dr. Eden P. Gomez, Chairperson of the Professorial Chair and Incentive Awards Committee, then presented the rationale and background of the gathering. She explained that the ceremony aims to recognize academic excellence, professional integrity, and faithful service demonstrated by CPU faculty members.

The giving of awards was assisted by Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, CPU President; Engr. Dany C. Molina, CPU Vice President for Administration; Dr. Esther Rose A. Romarate, CPU Vice President for Student Affairs; Dr. Florence P. Bogacia, Vice President for Finance and Enterprises; and Dr. Eden P. Gomez, Chairperson of PCI Awards Committee.
