CPU President Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy gave an inspiring welcoming remarks during the College Orientation.

Central Philippine University (CPU) warmly welcomed freshmen and transferees for the second semester of A.Y. 2023-2024 through an in-person college orientation held last January 23, 2024, at the EMC Conference Room. The jam-packed day, running from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, provided a comprehensive introduction to campus life, academic expectations, and essential university services for the new Centralians.

The morning session began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and an invitation to worship from Dr. Esther Rose A. Romarate, Vice President for Student Affairs. Students then embarked on a virtual journey through CPU’s digital platforms, learning how to navigate the CPU Learning Management System (LMS), Zoom, Canvas, and Microsoft 365. The Henry Luce Library also showcased its extensive resources and services, ensuring access to valuable academic support throughout their studies.


CPU students engaged in interactive sessions, participated in lively discussions and gained valuable insights from CPU faculty and staff.

The afternoon session, led by Dr. Florence P. Bogacia, Vice President for Finance & Administration, shifted gears to “Finance Matters.” Students received practical advice on managing their finances and utilizing campus resources responsibly. The session also highlighted the vibrant student life at CPU, introducing numerous student organizations and emphasizing the university’s commitment to student safety through awareness about the anti-hazing law.

Throughout the day, students engaged in interactive sessions, participated in lively discussions, and gained valuable insights from CPU faculty and staff. The orientation served as a springboard on students’ academic journey, equipping them with the knowledge and resources needed to navigate the exciting world of university life.

As the Second Semester College Orientation drew to a close, a sense of anticipation and excitement filled the air. The newly welcomed Centralians, armed with newfound knowledge and a supportive community at their back, are ready to begin their journey at CPU, poised to leave their paw prints on the university’s illustrious legacy.
