Central Philippine University held an online discussion with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on February 17, 2021 via Zoom.

The discussion focused on trends and updates on tertiary education and the upcoming board licensure examinations.

The opening prayer was led by the Office of Communications Director, Rev. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on.

In his opening remarks, CPU President Dr. Teodoro Robles said that the university must be flexible and must be able to make the necessary changes to overcome the challenges brought about by the pandemic.

CHED Region 6 Supervising Director Dr. Ester Guarin gave an update on the challenges and changes in tertiary education. OIC Director for PRC Region 6 Mr. Rommel Balisang discussed the strategies to ensure safe implementation of health protocols during licensure exams. He also announced the cancellation of some exams due to safety concerns. It is good to note that Mr. Balisang is a Centralian.

During the open forum, Dr. Guarin and Mr. Balisang were able to address some concerns from college deans and university officials.

The closing remarks was given by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Irving Domingo Rio.

The online event was organized by the CPU Office of Institutional Advancement, in cooperation with CPU Review, Continuing Education and Consultancy Center.
