On December 13, 2024, Central Philippine University (CPU) held its annual Service Awards program at the Rose Memorial Auditorium.

The event commenced with the marching of awardees and CPU administrators, followed by an invocation led by Rev. Franz Hestia Lovejoy Q. Leysa, Associate Pastor for Youth of the University Church. This was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, conducted by Ms. Cristina Huyong, Coordinator of the Cultural Affairs Office. Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian then delivered the devotional, and CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy extended his greetings to the attendees.

“We honor your hard work and unwavering commitments to the well-being and progress of our University… To our service awardees, please remember that the investments you have made in this university in terms of your time, energy, talents, and even resources do not go unnoticed. You are a valued part of our workforce whose aim is not only to help deliver the Exemplary Christian Education for Life but more importantly to honor God in everything we do here,” he said.

A total of 70 awardees were recognized this year for their long-standing service, with honorees spanning a range of categories, including 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years, 35 years, and 40 years of service. Special recognition was also given to retirees and posthumous awardees.

During the awardees’ response, Ms. Amalia F. Campos, a 40-year service awardee, reflected on her journey at CPU. “Try to see our hair—it’s all gray. That shows how loyal we are to this university,” Ms. Campos humorously noted. Another response was shared by Engr. Jeriel G. Militar, also a 40-year awardee, who said, “I always consider my stay here in CPU not as working at CPU but working for CPU. CPU, to me, is a mission field; I am a missionary working for the attainment of CPU’s Mission and Vision, and I hope God will find me faithful after all these years.”

The event concluded with the singing of the CPU Alma Mater Song, followed by a closing prayer led by Pastor Neva Grace L. Fabila, Associate Pastor for Ministry of the University Church.

The 2024 Service Awards program stands as a testament to CPU’s commitment to honoring the dedication and contributions of its faculty and staff, celebrating their vital role in the university’s mission to deliver Exemplary Christian Education for Life.
