CPU Guidance Services Center participates in the PACER Midyear Conference held at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City, engaging with prominent individuals to discuss the needs of clients across different ages and generations.
The Central Philippine University Guidance Services Center recently participated in the Philippine Association of Counselors, Education, and Supervision (PACER) Midyear Conference held at the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City from September 12-13, 2024. The conference, anchored on the theme “Beyond Generations: Best Practices in Bridging Gaps Across the Stages,” brought together guidance counselors, guidance associates, and psychometricians to discuss the needs of clients across different ages and generations.
A team from the CPU Guidance Services Center attended the event, consisting of Asst. Prof. Jessalyn F. Fetalsana, Guidance Director; Marisa C. Dy Buco; Chriselda Elaine V. Ador; Bethany Rozann J. Ecube; Roselynn Hope F. Cabanos; Shaine Valerie Caballero- Basug; Bertram Janos S. Ecate; Jeofrey O. Tacda Jr.; Kerr Miguel S. Ranes; and Dennah Grace L. Babas. The team also included Psychometricians Jade S. Ermitano and Erika Marie B. Bonitillo.
The first day of the said conference highlights included a keynote address by Ms. Becky Verdun-Lanes, followed by a series of plenary sessions. The topics covered included “Early Childhood” by Ms. Beia Legarda Santos-Florete, “Adolescence” by Dr. Marissa S. Nicasio, “Old Age” by Ms. Evelyn Alobba, and “Adulthood” by Ms. Marissa Pascual.
On the second day, September 13, the plenary session continued with discussions on “Generational Gaps” by Dr. Donalyn Lastima. The event also featured workshops on “Mindful Communication across Generations” by Ms. Rose Cataquis and “ACTing Together: Conflict Resolution across all ages” by Ms. Remedios Moog. Additionally, Dr. Ramon Clemente Martin Lachica delivered a lecture on “Using Standardized Tests as a Springboard for Discussion: Frustration Tolerance among Net Gens.”
In a Facebook post, the delegation expressed their gratitude to the CPU Administration for their unwavering support, stating: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Central Philippine University, University President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard Dagohoy, and Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Esther Rose Romarate for their unwavering support.”
Overall, the CPU Guidance Services Center’s participation in the PACER Midyear Conference provided an opportunity for its team to share best practices and network with professionals from across the country, ultimately enhancing its services to students and clients across different ages and generations.
