Guidance Counselors, Associates, and Personnel after the successful webinar.

Central Philippine University Guidance Services Center (CPU GSC) Satellite Units in the Basic Education which includes the Elementary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School, held its very first webinar for parents with the theme, “Guiding Supporting Connecting: A Webinar on Parental Engagement and Involvement in this Time of Pandemic” on October 29, 2021 from 2:00-3:30 in the afternoon via Zoom Teleconferencing.

Asst. Prof. Lloyd U. Basco, Assistant Principal of the Junior High School, led everyone in a devotional which was then followed by welcome remarks given by the Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Esther Rose A. Romarate.

The program continued by presenting the objectives of the event, and a round table discussion among the Guidance Counselors and Associates namely, Ms. Bethany Rozann J. Ecube, Guidance Associate for the College of Engineering and College of Agriculture Resources and Environmental Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Gift D. Tragico, Guidance Counselor for Senior High School, Asst. Prof. Eunice G. Alayon, Guidance Counselor for Junior High School, and Asst. Prof. Keziah A. Lagarto, Guidance Counselor for Elementary School. They discussed with the parents the various ways on how they can effectively engage with their children’s online learning, strengthen their collaboration with their children’s online education, and address the questions the parents wished to clarify. The discussion followed then with a question and answer session with Prof. Charlett B. Dianala, Junior High School Principal, and Dr. Rene T. Estomo, Senior High School Principal, together with the online participants, Guidance Counselors, and Guidance Associates.

Dr. Raquel L. Polec-eo, Director of the Guidance Services Center, expressed her utmost gratitude and appreciation in her closing remarks.

The program ended successfully moderated by Ms. Shaine Valarie A. Caballero, Guidance Associate for Senior High School, and Mr. Bertram Janos S. Ecate, Guidance Associate for Junior High School.

Overall, the event was a success. There were more than 89 parents who participated. The CPU Guidance Services Center is looking forward to do such an opportunity again.
