Congratulations to the CPU Golden Lions Dancesports Team for securing five medals and proudly representing the university on the national stage.
Central Philippine University’s Golden Lions Dancesports Team delivered an impressive performance after clinching five medals in the 4th Quarter National Philippine Dancesports Federation (PDSF) Championships held at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Malate, Manila, on October 25–26, 2025.
Leading CPU’s medal haul were Czkha Gyle Garrucha and Cliff Justin Pareja, who danced their way to two gold medals in the Modern Standard Youth A and Intercollegiate categories—events that featured Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, and Quickstep. The powerhouse pair further secured a silver medal in the Under-21 division, capping off a dominant run in the national competition.
Pareja, a first-year Civil Engineering student, expressed his joy and gratitude following their breakthrough achievement.
“First of all, I’m super happy of the results, I’m very thankful gid sa win namon. Also this is our first time nga mag-represent CPU in a national competition and super thankful man ko sa support sang CPU especially sa coach namon, Ma’am Love, never ending gid ang support ya sa amon,” said Pareja.
He also shared the challenges they faced, especially as the competition coincided with their midterm examinations.
“One of the hurdles was managing our time, so we disciplined ourselves to balance both studies and practice despite the challenges. What kept us motivated is the support from our coaches, trainers, friends, families, and CPU—without them indi gid namon ma lab-ot ang amon achievements. Every dance ko since elementary gina-dedicate ko gid para kay Mama ko, and thankful gid ako kay Lord sa tanan nga blessings kag talent nga gin hatag ya sa amon,” he added.
In the Latin categories, Ma. Victoria Cruz and Jemuel Andrei Villanueva added to CPU’s medal tally after earning silver in the Youth D1 division for Cha-cha-cha and Rumba. They also delivered a spirited performance to grab bronze in the Youth B category, which featured Samba, Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, and Jive.
Rounding out CPU’s strong showing, Keziah Yzabelle Callao and Faizan Ahmed Qureshi placed fourth in the Modern Standard Youth D1 category, showcasing technical finesse in the Waltz and Tango.
With their triumphant finish, the Golden Lions Dancesports Team continues to elevate CPU’s presence in the national dancesports arena—proving that discipline, passion, and community support remain at the heart of every victory.
