University Church- a visible reminder that Jesus Christ should be the light of our lives.

The annual Festival of Lights and Music at Central will open on December 6, 2019, at the CPU Big Field with the Theme “Jesus Christ, the Living Light of Life.” The Switching On of Christmas Lights and Fireworks Display will start by 6pm.

Last year, the opening celebration brought in more than 20,000 visitors. CPUAAI President Engr. Isagani Jalbuena said that they are expecting more visitors this year. After the switching on, there will be bands that will play while the induction of the CPUAAI Board of Trustees and Officers, and other CPUAAI Chapters will be at the Educational Media Center.

The final schedule of activities after the Opening Program on Friday will include the College of Hospitality Management (CHM) Extravaganza at the Centennial Walkway at 7PM on Saturday, December 7. A Cantata will also be held at the University Church at 6 PM, Sunday December 8. On Monday, December 9 at seven in the evening the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Education and College of Agriculture, Resources and Environmental Sciences (CARES) will have their entertainment program at the Centennial Walkway. On December 10, Tuesday, the College of Nursing, College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy and College of Medtech will spearhead Christmas show at night.

The White Gift and an evening of Christmas Carols @ Central will be held at the University Church on Wednesday, December 11 at 7PM. This is organized by the University Church and College of Theology. The College of Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy and College of Medical Technology will hold its program at 7PM at the Centennial Walkway.

December 12, Thursday, the College of Engineering (COE), College of Computer Studies (CCS) and the CPUR Night will hold a “Christmas Jam” at the Centennial Walkway at 7PM. This will be participated mostly by campus bands.

On December 13, there will be a “Lamparada” (parade of lights) to be spearheaded by the CPU Republic at 5:30 PM and at 7 PM. The Kindergarten, Elementary, and Junior High School Departments will hold a program called “Fusion” at the Alumni Promenade and Concert Park (APCP).

On December 14 at 7 pm, Ilonggo Artists will take center stage in a program spearheaded by GMA Campus Radio at the Centennial Walkway.

The CPU Symphonic Band will perform in a Christmas Concert at the Centennial Walkway on December 16. The College of Business and Accountancy and Senior High School will also hold a show on December 17, 7PM at the Centennial Walkway. In observance of Graciano Lopez -Jaena Day on December 18, a program to honor him will be held at 7:00 PM at the Alumni Promenade Concert Park. The last of the nightly shows will be a Cultural Night and Closing Ceremonies on December 19 at the Centennial Walkway and will feature a presentation about “Remembering Hopevale” and U-Day Best . This is in cooperation with the Cultural Affairs Office and the CPUR.
