Excellence beyond borders; beyond PH – On June 24, 2023, members of the CPU Engineering Artificial Intelligence (AI) champions will again compete in the international PolyHack competition in Hong Kong.  They are George Jose Abaygar, Hans Gabriel Daduya, Matthew Ledesma, Mykiell Deovenn Pagayonan and Rafafael III Prudente. Some members of the team are winners of various PolyHack competitions all over the Philippines, and online – with international competitions, notable of which is the Microsoft Imagine Cup where the team garnered 2nd place in Manila, earlier. The CPU Team is part of the Top 40 percent of the 2023 participants, who will receive special rewards in Hong Kong.

With diverse talents, participants in the international PolyHack event will come from different technical backgrounds and locations – from high school up to college. Each team collaborates to produce innovative projects in a span of 10 days and gets the opportunity to receive professional guidance, recognition, and enormous rewards. The participant must demonstrate their creativity and excellence in solving real-world challenges.

​​According to their team leader Mr. Prudente, “PolyHack is the ultimate event to take one’s skill to the next level and make a positive difference in the world by creating solutions that elevate the human experience.” He said, “Curiosity is the fuel that sparks discovery, inquiry, and learning. This is the very reason that has led us to join various competitions that challenge our knowledge and creativity. We are particularly excited to join the next global Artificial Intelligence Competition. We find joy in exploring the vast applications of technology such as web development, computer vision, and artificial intelligence, among others.”
