Central Philippine University (CPU) was honored with awards at the 23rd Blood Donors Awarding and Recognition Ceremony, organized by the Philippine Red Cross – Iloilo Chapter on September 6, 2024.

The event, held at Diversion 21 Hotel, celebrated the remarkable generosity of blood donors and their invaluable contributions to saving lives. Attended by numerous distinguished figures, the ceremony underscored the community’s dedication to health and humanitarian efforts.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, the Philippine Red Cross – Iloilo Chapter expressed their gratitude: “A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made yesterday’s 23rd Blood Donors Awarding & Recognition Ceremony of Philippine Red Cross Iloilo Chapter WVRBC such a success! Grateful for the generosity of our donors, the tireless efforts of our staff and volunteers, the unwavering support of our Blood Program partners, for God’s blessings and the incredible community that came together to celebrate the gift of life.”

CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy accepted the Exemplary Blood Service Award on behalf of the institution. This accolade recognizes CPU’s exceptional blood service program, which has been a valued partner with the Philippine Red Cross – Iloilo Chapter for over 15 years. The award reflects CPU’s significant blood collection achievements in 2023. Additionally, the CPU College of Arts and Sciences received a Bronze Special Citation for its commendable involvement in PRC Blood Service activities, having collected between 30 and 49 blood units.
