Central Philippine University reaffirmed its status as a premier Christian institution after receiving Institutional Re-Accreditation Status from ACSCU-ACI during the 39th National Assembly held on January 18–19, 2025 in Baguio City, represented by Dr. Ananias Sabijon, Jr. (5th from right), Dr. Dimpna Castigador (6th from right), and Prof. Sharlene Gotico (center).
CPU has once again affirmed its standing as a leading Christian institution of higher learning, being one of four schools granted Institutional Re-Accreditation Status by the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities – Accrediting Council, Inc. (ACSCU-ACI).
Valid from December 2024 to December 2029, the institutional re-accreditation recognizes CPU’s consistent excellence in academic programs, institutional governance, research, student services, and commitment to Christian values.
The award was presented during the 39th ACSCU-ACI National Assembly held on January 18–19, 2025 in Baguio City. The national assembly is an annual gathering of ACSCU-ACI member institutions. Receiving the award on behalf of CPU were Dr. Ananias Sabijon, Jr., Director, Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE); Dr. Dimpna Castigador, Director of the Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA); and Prof. Sharlene Gotico, Associate Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center (QAAC).
Joining CPU in this recognition are Silliman University, Adventist University of the Philippines, and Trinity University of Asia, all of which also received reaffirmation of their institutional accreditation status. The Institutional Accreditation is awarded by ACSCU-ACI to member institutions that have shown sustained quality across various academic and operational areas and have consistently passed rigorous evaluation processes.
Also awarded to CPU during the National Assembly were the following:
- Candidate status for the BS Entrepreneurship program (valid from December 2024 – December 2026)
- Candidate status for the BS Management Accounting program (valid from December 2024 – December 2026)
- Level II accreditation for the BS Psychology Program (valid from December 2024 – December 2029)
- Level II accreditation for the Master in Public Administration program (valid from December 2024 – December 2029)
- Level II accreditation for the Doctor of Management program (valid from December 2024 – December 2029)
