On September 21, 2025, the Central Philippine University (CPU) Weston Hall Ladies Dormitory and Franklin Hall Men’s Dormitory came together in a spirit of worship and thanksgiving to celebrate their annual Dedication Sunday at the University Church. The worship service served not only as a moment of spiritual renewal for the residents but also as a formal act of entrusting their academic journey, daily lives, and dormitory community to God’s guidance and blessing.

As part of the program, the residents of both dormitories offered a heartfelt song number, “Living Hope” by Phil Wickham, expressing gratitude and commitment to their shared community of faith. The dedication was a time of prayer, thanksgiving, and blessing for the students who call the dormitories their home during their stay at CPU.

Following the church service, the Weston Hall Ladies Dormitory residents gathered at their dormitory for a small fellowship. The event was filled with moments of joy and laughter, highlighted by the giving of awards and tokens that celebrated camaraderie and achievements within the dormitory community.

This year’s gathering carried a bittersweet note, as this semester marks the last for Weston Hall Ladies Dormitory residents in their current home. The dormitory is scheduled for renovation next year, and while transferring to boarding houses, apartments, or other dormitories outside the campus is optional, residents were informed that Weston Hall will be closed by the second semester. Though this means a temporary parting, they were assured that they will be warmly welcomed back to Weston Hall once the renovations are completed.

In a heartfelt post on the official Weston Hall Ladies Dormitory Facebook page, Dormitory Matron Ma’am Rischelle Ann B. Ellamil reflected on the day’s significance:

“What a beautiful day filled with hope and inspiration as we dedicated our dear dorm residents! We had so much fun giving awards and tokens, but what touched me the most was your surprise. I thought it would be you who’d cry, but instead, your heartfelt letters and messages made me cry. It was a bittersweet moment, because by the end of the semester, some of you may move to new boarding houses, apartments, or dormitories, while Weston Hall Ladies Dormitory—‘Our Home Away from Home’—will soon be renovated. To my lovely and adorable ladies, always remember that you will forever have a special place in my heart. I LOVE YOU ALL. This isn’t goodbye, good vibes Westonian tribe!”

Dedication Sunday not only strengthened the spiritual foundation of the residents but also highlighted the lasting bonds built within the dormitory community. As Weston Hall awaits its long-anticipated renovation, its residents carry with them cherished memories and the hope of returning to their “home away from home” once it reopens.
