A collaborative effort rooted in Scientia et Fides, Central Philippine University proudly maintains inclusion in the 2025 THE Impact Rankings, with recognition in eight SDG categories.
Central Philippine University (CPU) continues to earn global recognition for its commitment to sustainable development, as it once again secured inclusion in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. The announcement was made during the Global Sustainable Development Congress held in Istanbul, Türkiye, where Dr. Anna May Y. Zerrudo, Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center (QAAC), represented CPU as the official delegate.
The THE Impact Rankings assess how universities worldwide perform in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this year’s edition, 2,526 universities from 130 countries were evaluated, highlighting the significance of CPU’s standing.
Notably, CPU was recognized in last year’s edition for seven SDGs. These included SDG 1: No Poverty (ranked 801–1000), SDG 2: Zero Hunger (601–800), SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being (801–1000), SDG 4: Quality Education (1501+), SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities (601–800), SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (801–1000), and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals (1501+).
This year, CPU expanded its global impact by securing rankings in eight SDG categories. The University has been recognized in the following: SDG 1: No Poverty (1001+), SDG 2: Zero Hunger (601–800), SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being (801–1000), SDG 4: Quality Education (1501+), SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities (801–1000), SDG 12: Life on Land (401–600) (new entry), SDG 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions (1001+), and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals (1501+).
Additionally, CPU’s inclusion in SDG 12: Life on Land is a notable achievement that reflects the University’s increasing focus on environmental sustainability. This new recognition highlights CPU’s growing efforts in promoting biodiversity, advancing research in sustainable agriculture, and strengthening initiatives related to land conservation and ecological responsibility.
CPU’s consistent inclusion in the THE Impact Rankings underscores its sustained excellence in aligning academic efforts with global development goals. This achievement serves as a testament to CPU’s continuous pursuit of excellence, dedication to advancing knowledge, and fostering innovation, along with its faithful participation in God’s mission.
