On October 29, 2025, Central Philippine University (CPU) held an Orientation on Writing Functional Objectives and Conducting Opportunity and Risk Assessment at the Henry Luce III Library Conference Room, in line with the University’s commitment to continuous quality improvement and the effective implementation of its Educational Organization Management System (EOMS).
The orientation gathered all unit heads of the University, with Dr. Dimpna Castigador, Director of the Office of International Affairs (OIA), serving as the Resource Person.
During the session, Dr. Castigador emphasized the importance of crafting clear, measurable, and aligned functional objectives that reflect each unit’s contributions to the University’s strategic goals. She also discussed systematic approaches to identifying and assessing opportunities and risks that may affect operational effectiveness, institutional performance, and stakeholder satisfaction.
The activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of unit heads as process owners by equipping them with the tools and frameworks necessary to ensure coherence between functional objectives and the University’s overarching mission and vision.
Attendance to the orientation was mandatory for all newly appointed unit heads, underscoring CPU’s commitment to sustaining a culture of excellence, accountability, and quality assurance across all units.
Through this initiative, CPU continues to promote informed decision-making and proactive management practices in pursuit of continuous institutional improvement and service excellence.
