On February 4, 2025, the Central Philippine University College of Nursing, in partnership with the Philippine Nurses Association – America, hosted the successful “2025 Salin Kaalaman” at the Rose Memorial Auditorium. Photo layout by Jezreel Tan Nuñal, with photos by Aynah Layo.

Central Philippine University – College of Nursing in collaboration with the Philippine Nurses Association – America successfully hosted the “2025 Salin Kaalaman” held in the corners of Rose Memorial Auditorium last February 4, 2025.

The event was exuberantly united with the third year and fourth year nursing students of the College of Nursing and with the CPU’s sister school, Filamer Christian University – College of Nursing who served as the guest participant.

Various notable speakers who embodied their expertise throughout their career took the podium to inculcate their experience from the international fields. It is on the premise of promoting ‘best practices’ imparting the students and the healthcare providers to shed light on evidence-based care in the management of their patients. The following are the list of keynote speakers with their corresponding topics:

  1. Warly Remegio, DNP, RN NEA-BC, NDP-BC, FNYAM with his “New Graduates Transition to Practice Program”, Mr. Remigio hailed from Hartford HealthCare in the USA;
  2. Teresita Medina with her topic in “Workplace Violence”, Dr. Medina joined live via Zoom and hoisted the banner of William Paterson University;
  3. Deddeen Orola, MSN, RN/ADM, MHcA, RN, BON from Johns Hopkins Medicine with her topic on “The Impact of Nurses’ Roles in Transitions of Care and Their Influence in Multidisciplinary Practice”;
  4. Ophelia Empleo-Frazier, MSN, GNP-BC, CDP with her topic on “Decoding the 3Ds in Older Adults: Delirium, Dementia, and Depression”, she hailed as a professor from Yale University School of Nursing; and
  5. Ofelia Solem, MS, RN, CIC, CCM with her topic on “Nurses’ Role in Preventing Hospital Acquired Infections”, Ms. Solem serves as an infection preventionist at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Massachusetts, USA

The event was also proliferated via Zoom and was joined by West Visayas State University, St. Anthony College of Roxas City, Inc., Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines, Angeles University, and ADPCN Region 6. With the tremendous aid of the CPU College of Nursing alumni and College of Nursing clinical instructors and staff, things are made possible through promoting academe and lifelong learning shared with the students. The event culminated with an appreciation speech for the guests and speakers and the invaluable presence of PNA-America in this endeavor.
