Central Philippine University College of Nursing (CPU CON) welcomed its newest batch of nursing students with a series of orientation activities on August 20, 2024. The event aimed to introduce the freshmen to the college’s culture, organizations, and expectations.
The orientation began with the CONnect: A Welcome Walk, a solemn gathering that promoted togetherness and diversity among the students. Freshmen were welcomed by their seniors and received goodie bags as they entered the LDT Building. A devotional rite followed, where students received words of encouragement and motivation for their four-year journey.
The CON Freshmen Orientation was held in the EMC, where students learned about the history of CPU CON, admission and retention guidelines, and disciplinary procedures. The orientation also featured introductions to various nursing organizations and clubs, including the Nurses Christian Fellowship, Nurses Notes’ Publication, Peer-Facilitators CPU CON, Student Nurses Association Philippines CPU Chapter, and Dancing Nurses Association.
The InterCONnect: Orgs and Clubs Fair and Booths provided an opportunity for organizations and clubs to showcase their activities and recruit new members. The fair also featured Project EntrepreNURSE, a platform for student nurse entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services.
The orientation was a successful event that helped new nursing students feel welcomed and prepared for their academic journey at CPU CON.
