Aira S. Pastolero receives the Best Intern award, symbolizing her exceptional performance and commitment throughout the internship program.

The CPU College of Medical Laboratory Sciences held its 2nd Internship Culminating Activity last June 7, 2024, to honor the hard work and achievements of the interns and to recognize their efforts, progress, and the skills they have developed that boosted their confidence and sense of accomplishment as they take one step closer to their professional career.

Dr. Ma. Corazon P. Porras, Dean of the College, welcomed the audience and praised the interns for their dedication and perseverance. She highlighted the valuable hands-on experience they gained and the essential skills they developed, including empathy, teamwork, and ethical practice. Dr. Porras emphasized the interns’ resilience and adaptability, especially during challenging times.


Guest speaker Atty. Sainthia Joy Sorrilla shares her inspiring journey, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and the impact of their future work in healthcare.

“Our interns have not only acquired technical skills, but also embraced the core values of empathy, teamwork, and ethical practice essential for their future careers in healthcare. Their journey has been marked by perseverance and passion for excellence, qualities that will serve them well as they transition from students to professionals,” Dean Porras said.

Atty. Sainthia Joy Sorrilla, guest speaker of the event shared her inspiring story and emphasized the importance of manifestation and perseverance. She reminded the interns of the commitment and higher purpose associated with their chosen field. Atty. Sorrilla urged them to never lose sight of the impact they have the potential to make on people’s lives.

“The uncertainties, the failures, and the challenges that come with your dream will get you to question your worth as a person. But mind you, that does not define you. In every test tube we handle, every algorithm we develop, every image we analyze, and every patient we encounter, there is a story, a story of hope, resilience, and indomitable human spirit,” Atty. Sorrilla said.

She spoke about the strong bonds formed among the interns as they shared experiences, supported each other, and navigated the challenges of the internship program. Frias encouraged her classmates to cherish their memories and remember the journey that brought them to this momentous occasion.

“I want you to cherish every moment, every memory, and every experience. And I want you to remember that no matter where life takes us next, we will always carry this journey with us as a reminder of our strength, our resilience, and our unwavering commitment to ourselves,” Frias said.

The ceremony concluded with a performance of the Batch Song for the Class of 2024 by the talented interns. The event celebrated the interns’ achievements and marked the beginning of their exciting careers in the field of medical laboratory science.
