Attendees of the CPU College of Law’s “Barrio Fiesta: A Law Day Celebration” on September 19, 2025, at the Alumni Concert Promenade Park took a photo opportunity after the successful event led by the Senior Law Order of Kalantiao.

The Central Philippine University (CPU) College of Law marked Law Day with the event “Barrio Fiesta: A Law Day Celebration” on September 19, 2025, at the Alumni Concert Promenade Park.

The celebration was held in observance of Proclamation No. 1477, which declares September 19 of every year as Law Day. The CPU College of Law, through the Senior Law Order of Kalantiao, organized the activity as part of its annual Law Fest.

“I am grateful for the active participation of our law students and for the dedication of the team who worked hard to make this year’s Law Day celebration both meaningful and successful,” said John Denver Alayon, Chairperson of CPU-OK. He added that the Barrio Fiesta-inspired event showed that even amidst the heavy readings and rigorous demands of law school, students also have time to celebrate, enjoy, and strengthen their sense of community.

A Community Lecture was also conducted, headed by CPU-College of Law Assistant Dean Atty. Liza Lyn S. Lamason-Garcia. She explained how the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) must be implemented, gave practical tips to law students, and facilitated a group activity wherein everyone participated as though a community lecture was being done with them.

“I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the CPU College of Law, especially Dean Atty. Aila Rae B. Endonila, Assistant Dean Atty. Liza Lyn S. Lamason-Garcia, Ma’am Rodalyn, and Ma’am Melody, for their guidance and support in making the Barrio Fiesta celebration a success,” Alayon added.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the Amazing Race competition, where Juris Doctor 4 emerged as the champion. Juris Doctor 2 finished as first runner-up, while Juris Doctor 3 and Juris Doctor 1C shared the second runner-up spot. Meanwhile, Juris Doctor 2 also won the Best in Poster Slogan award.

The success of the celebration stood as a testament to the Centralian way of integrating Scientia et Fides in every endeavor.
