CPU-College of Law students, faculty, and staff attending the “Mamma Mia Madness: Bring the Glitter, Live the Drama” Acquaintance Party 2024, held at Casa Real in Iloilo City, gather for a photo opportunity.
On November 16, 2024, the Central Philippine University – College of Law (CPU-COL) celebrated “Mamma Mia Madness: Bring the Glitter, Live the Drama” Acquaintance Party 2024 held at the Casa Real, Iloilo City.
The event commenced with an opening prayer followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. The opening remarks were rendered by Atty. Aila Rae B. Endonila, the Dean of the CPU-College of Law. She opened the forum by welcoming the participants with an acknowledgement of the students, the faculty, the alumni, and the other people who came to the event.
“As we celebrate this evening, let us not only build new connections but also reaffirm our shared purpose, to honor the legacy of the past, to overcome the rigors of the present, and to shape the future of the legal profession with integrity and purpose. Here’s to an evening of meaningful conversations, lasting friendships, and a renewed commitment to excellence,” Dean Endonila said.
The program continued with the introduction and oath-taking ceremony of the CPU Law Order of Kalantiao officers which are the following: Chairperson-Dennis G. De La Cruz; Vice-Chairperson for Internal Affairs-Jemar C. Alerta; Vice-Chairperson for External Affairs-Vanessa M. Tse Wing; Vice-Chairperson for Logistics-Chery C. Borlado; Vice-Chairperson for Finance-Esther Joy S. Tomugdan; Vice-Chairperson for Communications-Jenny Pearl M. Azuelo; Vice-Chairperson for Sports and Recreations-John Jee B. Jamore; Corporate Secretary-Kisszette Marie T. Gabales; Assistant Vice-Chairperson for Logistics-Jan Patrick L. Cañoso; Assistant Vice-Chairperson for Information and Social Media Relations-Hanna Alexandrea C. Tabita; and Assistant Vice-Chairperson for Finance and Procurement-Maezelle W. Ferrer. Following this, an oath-taking ceremony for the freshmen students also took place, with both ceremonies presided over by the honorable Judge Nelson J. Bartolome.
One of the highlights of the event was the inspirational story shared by Atty. Rogelio V. Aguilario, Jr. He narrated his experiences as a law student including his challenging nights, countless sleepless hours preparing for an exam, moments of self-doubts, and finally triumph that made all his struggles worthwhile.
“As we continue dancing through this journey called life, let’s remember that every chapter begins with a courage to start. Let’s face a new beginning with the same excitement and determination that bought us to where we are today. Thank you and may we all take a chance on ourselves as we keep reaching our dreams,” Atty. Aguilario stated.
Song and dance presentations, raffles, games, and a best-dressed competition were also included in the evening’s activities. Closing remarks were delivered by Dennis Dela Cruz, Chairperson of CPU Law Order of Kalantiao.
