The 18th Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) Exhibit was held at the CPU Promenade and Concert Park on May 9, 2023 from 8:00AM to 2:00 PM. The exhibits included mechanical prototypes, scientific-technological research models and abstracts. The annual activity was participated by CPU freshmen engineering students, as part of their curriculum requirement.

The program started with an opening prayer by Engr. Glenn Fernandez. The National Anthem and the University Hymn, Central My Central followed.

In his opening remarks, Engr. Jeriel G. Militar, OIC, College of Engineering said “The exhibit is done to show the course output of the students.” He added that “The Engineering students exhibits aim to present solutions to perceived problems of society.”

There were some rules to follow in choosing a winner. Departmental Winners (1st and 2nd placers), were announced before the Departmental Champion Final Competition. There was a drawing of lots for the order of Presentation. Reading of the Criteria was followed by the Introduction of Judges. There was a 3-Minute Pitching Contest with 8 participating Teams.

The contest prizes included the Best Poster, Best Exhibitor, Best Prototype (per department); 2nd Runner Up, 1st Runner Up and Champion.

The Closing Remarks was given by Engr. Babylou G. Nava, Chairperson, IED 2023.
