The CPU-College of Business and Accountancy Class of 1979 took a photo opportunity together with CPU President, Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, alongside with Mrs. Tina Marie P. Hortelano, CPUAAI Liaison Officer.
On March 10, 2025, the CPU College of Commerce (now CPU-College of Business and Accountancy) Class of 1979 visited Central Philippine University. Initially planning only a photo opportunity at the CPU Halfmoon, as one of their most unforgettable spots, the visit turned into something much more memorable.
The delegation included Teresita R. Laguna from Cainta, Rizal; Benito P. Abagat from California; Rebecca S. Farnaso-Magno from Bacolod City; Helen T. Capagal from Iloilo City; Delia C. Badoles from Capiz; Loida M. Abagat from Miag-ao, Iloilo; Gloria P. Cahulogan from Bacoor, Cavite; Josephine G. Marterior from Zarraga, Iloilo; Myrna C. Saroca from Antique; and Elvira C. Occeña from California.
“Thank you, CPU Alumni Association, for the warm welcome extended to Batch ‘79 of the College of Commerce… Happy to be back after 46 years of leaving the portal of CPU as accounting graduates,” Myrna Saroca wrote on a Facebook post.
They visited the office of the Central Philippine University Alumni Association (CPUAAI) and had the opportunity to meet and greet CPU President, Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, along with Mrs. Tina Marie P. Hortelano, CPUAAI Liaison Officer, and Engr. Vitini Edhard O. Idemne.
“God is good for making these things happen,” she added.
The CPU College of Commerce Class of 1979’s visit on March 10, 2025, turned into an unplanned reunion celebration. What started as a photo opportunity at the CPU Halfmoon became a memorable gathering, with alumni warmly welcomed by the university, rekindling strong ties with their alma mater after 46 years.
