Central Philippine University (CPU) will be conducting the College Aptitude Test (CPUCAT) at Koronadal National Comprehensive High School on November 23, 2024. Applicants are encouraged to visit CPU’s official website and Facebook page for additional information on other exam schedules and off-campus venues.
Central Philippine University (CPU) is pleased to announce the expansion of its CPU College Aptitude Test (CPUCAT) to off-campus locations, reviving a tradition that originally began with the CPU College Placement Test (CPUCPE), years prior to the pandemic. Early 2024, CPUCAT was conducted on campus for incoming first year college students of SY 2024-2025. This time, it expands into off-campus testing centers for incoming first year college students of SY 2025-2026, furthering CPU’s thrust of providing accessible, high-quality education.
In line with CPU’s vision—”A University committed to Exemplary Christian Education for Life (EXCEL) and responsive to the needs of the total person and the world”—this off-campus initiative reaches students in diverse locations. Ranked in the QS Asia University Rankings, Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, and granted autonomous status by the Commission on Higher Education, the University remains committed to its mission of delivering a comprehensive education that includes spiritual, intellectual, moral, scientific, technological, and cultural training. CPU also reaffirms its commitment to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on quality education.
CPU’s Student Recruitment Officer, Nestle G. Taala, emphasized the impact of this accessibility-focused approach: “Through off-campus testing, we can provide more students with an accessible path to a transformative education that is responsive to the needs of today’s world. We encourage alumni, students, and supporters to share this announcement widely within their communities to reach potential students who may benefit from these expanded opportunities.”
The first of these off-campus CPUCAT sessions took place in Puerto Princesa City last September 2024. On November 16, 2024 (Saturday), CPUCAT will be administered in Roxas City, Capiz, while that in Koronadal City will be on November 23, 2024 (Saturday).
Applicants must register online through the CPU website to take the College Aptitude Test (CPUCAT). This requirement applies to all on-campus applicants, as well as those applying from Capiz, South Cotabato, and other off-campus locations. Other planned off-campus locations include previous sites of the CPUCPE such as San Jose (Antique), Kalibo (Aklan), and Negros Occidental. Additionally, CPU aims to expand the reach of CPUCAT to new locations, with Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga City expected to join the list.
Information on other off-campus sites will be announced soon through the various university communication channels. Please stay tuned for updates regarding additional resources, schedules, and support services available at each location.
