An innovative and entrepreneurial mindset–The CPU College of Engineering held their 1st Startup Challenge at the Engineering Building lobby on May 26, 2023. In compliance with the subject Technopreneurship, Engr. Gelvie C. Lagos organized the startup challenge for Engineering students under the subject.
The students, with their respective groups, were encouraged to exhibit and pitch their innovative startup ideas. Students from other colleges and departments were free to roam and witness the creative innovations of the participating teams. The participants were also encouraged to put food on their designated tables for the spectators to enjoy.
Engr. Lagos also planned to arrange a room at the Engineering building to exhibit the best entries on this first startup challenge. This startup challenge contributes to honing the entrepreneurial and innovative skills of students and enhances their capacity for effective communication, working in diverse teams, and creating and implementing advanced innovations.
Engineering is evolving at a rapid pace, much like every other industry in the world, and there is a greater need than ever for engineers with an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset. This event proves that Central Philippine University trains its students in becoming the best players in their respective fields.
