CPU reaffirms its dedication to championing sustainable agricultural research and global partnerships through the 6th International Conference on Environmentally Sustainable Animal Industry (ICESAI) and the 6th Animal Production International Seminar (APIS).

Central Philippine University (CPU), in partnership with the College of Agriculture, Resources, and Environmental Sciences (CARES), headed by CPU-CARES Dean Dr. Jaime Cabarles, Jr., successfully co-hosted the 6th International Conference on Environmentally Sustainable Animal Industry (ICESAI) and the 6th Animal Production International Seminar (APIS) on September 2, 2025, in collaboration with Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia.

The international event gathered researchers and experts from across the globe, providing a platform to share innovative studies and exchange ideas on advancing sustainability in the field of animal production.

One of the conference highlights was the active participation of the CPU Research Center for Philippine Native Chicken, which presented five research papers that showcased the unique qualities and scientific value of native fowl from Western Visayas. These studies underscored the center’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable poultry practices while elevating the role of native genetic resources in strengthening local and global food systems.

Through its co-hosting of the 6th ICESAI and APIS, CPU reaffirmed its commitment to championing sustainable agricultural research, fostering innovation, and building international collaborations. The event not only spotlighted groundbreaking research but also emphasized the importance of innovation in achieving an environmentally sustainable animal industry.
