Christ Emphasis Week is held from February 27 to March 6, 2026, centered on the theme “Crucial Decision” based on Acts 16:30–31, with the Centralian community participating in worship services and convocations across campus.
Central Philippine University (CPU) held its Christ Emphasis Week (CEW) for the second semester of Academic Year 2025-2026 from February 27 to March 6, 2026, gathering students, faculty, and staff in a series of worship services and convocations conducted at various campus venues, including the Rose Memorial Auditorium, the University Church, the Educational Media Center (EMC), and the Elementary Gymnasium.
Centered on the theme “Crucial Decision,” based on Acts 16:30–31, the weeklong observance urged the Centralian community to reflect on making life-changing decisions rooted in faith. The CEW theme song for this year was “Say Yes! (Only Jesus),” composed by the College of Arts and Sciences Praise Team.
The celebration officially opened on February 27 with an opening worship service at the University Church, attended by faculty, staff, and students. Pastor Jemuel Harder delivered the message, emphasizing the importance of choosing Christ as the foundation of one’s life.
On February 28, an NSTP convocation was held at the Rose Memorial Auditorium, with BGen. Ezra James E. Enriquez (Ret.) serving as preacher. On the same day, the School of Graduate Studies conducted its CEW gathering at the Conference Room of the Educational Media Center (EMC), with Rev. Byron Quimpo delivering the message.
From March 2 to March 4, CEW activities continued across several colleges, with services conducted by Pastor Norman Lao, Pastor Jemuel Harder, and Pastor Warren Aragona. The College of Business and Accountancy and College of Medical Laboratory Science held their gatherings from March 2 to 4, along with the College of Agriculture, Resources, and Environmental Sciences; College of Pharmacy; College of Theology; College of Arts and Sciences; College of Engineering; College of Education; and College of Medicine – Respiratory Therapy. The Colleges of Hospitality Management, Computer Studies, and Nursing observed their CEW services on March 2, 4, and 5, respectively, while the College of Nursing held its CEW gatherings from March 3 to March 5.
The Senior High School held its CEW services on March 3, 5, and 6, led by Atty. Albert Jan Matthew A. Java. The Junior High School and Elementary Department conducted their gatherings from March 3 to 5, with Pastor Ben Joseph Liboon and Pastor Gnezel B. Dela Torre as speakers, respectively. The Kindergarten Department observed CEW on March 4 and 5, with Pastor Faye Grace C. Caver delivering the message.
The College of Medicine held its CEW service on March 3, with Pastor Norman Lao as speaker, while the College of Law conducted its gathering on March 2, led by Atty. Laurence Susan P. Ortiz.
The weeklong spiritual celebration concluded with a Praise Jam on March 6, 2026, where students, faculty, and staff from various colleges and departments gathered for worship and fellowship.
Through Christ Emphasis Week, Central Philippine University continues to uphold its commitment to nurturing the spiritual life of its academic community and encouraging individuals to make crucial decisions anchored in faith and devotion to God.
