CPU held Christ Emphasis Week Convocations for the first semester on August 9, 10 and 13-16 in different venues on campus.
With the theme “#NoFilter”, the convocations among the different colleges and departments highlighted scriptures from Jeremiah 1:4-5. The theme focuses on one’s identity and worth in Christ.
During the Opening Celebration, Pastor Amor Aurelio Alvarez urged the attendees to start living a life without “filters”, that we should not think about worldly standards so we could live for God.
Convocation speaker Pastor Jabez Oberes talked about our identity in Christ. That it is being in union with God that will make us truly discover our real identity.
Pastor Christian Larry Kwe encouraged everyone to have confidence in knowing and treading God’s plan plan for everyone.
Rev. Rosan Tabaodaja’s sermon focused on today’s issues. She emphasized that we are the best of God’s creation and it is our responsibility to extend justice to all forms of life.
Other convocation speakers were Jenn Bricker and Dominik Brauer for NSTP convocation, Japheth Espinosa for the Junior High School convocations, Pastor Gnezel dela Torre for the Kindergarten convocation and Rev. Martha May Luces for the Elementary.
The university hopes that CEW will be one of the avenues for students, faculty and staff to encounter Jesus.
