On March 17, 2025, the Dream Shell Paper Co. from the Central Philippine University-College of Business and Accountancy (CPU-CBA) clinched the 2nd runner-up spot in the 2nd Western Visayas PCDEB Regional Business Summit Business Plan Competition. The event, organized by the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB) in collaboration with the USA Business Management Association of the Philippines, was held at the 7th Floor, CPMT Conference Room, University of San Agustin, under the theme “Home Grown Heroes: Leading the Way to Business Resiliency and Sustainability.”

The Centralian team included Christalen Galanto Palisada, Avarjol Cadiao Orantes, Blanche Faith Margate, Benedict Silorio, and Katherine Prue Alejano, with guidance from their adviser, Rae Marie Leong-on.

“Repurposing oyster shells into eco-friendly paper, Dream Shell Paper Co. demonstrated how sustainable and innovation can go hand in hand with their product—Oyster Paper—offering a creative solution for a greener future… May this achievement serve as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue sustainable and innovative business ventures,” CPU-CBA Student Council wrote on their official Facebook page.

Along with CPU, student representatives from Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod (CSAB), Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U), University of Antique (UA), and the host institution, University of San Agustin (USA), showcased their skills and expertise in various business-related categories.
