Dr. Hermely A. Jalando-on and Prof. Rae Marie Leong-on, BS Entrepreneurship Program Coordinator, both faculty members of the Business Administration Department, Central Philippine University – College of Business and Accountancy (CPU-CBA), participated in the session on “Creative Economy and Creative Entrepreneurship for Education Institutions.” The workshop was held on September 6, 2025, as part of the inaugural Malikhaing Pinoy Creative Expo 2025 at the SMX Convention Center, Taguig City.
Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Philippine Creative Industries Development Council (PCIDC), the session was spearheaded by the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network of the Philippines (UNESCO EE-Net PH). The event primarily aimed to strengthen the role of educators and academic institutions in advancing creative entrepreneurship and contributing to the growth of the Philippine creative economy.
The workshop, held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the SMX Meeting Rooms, SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City, was followed by an open session from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Main Stage Area, SMX Aura. The five-day expo gathered stakeholders from the creative industries, education sector, and development organizations.
Discussions highlighted the integration of creativity, problem-solving, and innovation in business and entrepreneurship education. Through interactive sessions and collaborative activities, participants in the aforesaid session were introduced to modern approaches that will help prepare students for the demands of today’s competitive and rapidly changing business environment.
The participation of Dr. Jalando-on and Prof. Leong-on reflects CPU’s continuing commitment to academic excellence and innovation, ensuring that Centralians are equipped with creativity and entrepreneurial spirit needed to contribute meaningfully to society.
