Faculty members of the Chemistry Department under the CPU-College of Arts and Sciences namely Prof. Jun Ozbert M. Haguisan, Ms. Aira Rose P. Panadero, and Prof. Mizpah C. Villalobos, participated in the 38th Philippine Chemistry Congress (38PCC) and the 2024 International Conference on Chemistry (2024IC2) on July 22–24, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center, Davao City.

With the theme CHEMINNOVATION: Sustaining a Better Tomorrow: New Ideas, New Developments, New Technologies, the conference gathered scientists and chemists from academe, industry, and government in the Philippines and from other countries to interact, share new knowledge, and collaborate.

Prof. Villalobos and Ms. Panadero participated in the CHED Consultative meeting on the review and revision of the Policies, Standards and Guidelines for the BS Chemistry program facilitated by the CHED Technical Committee for Chemistry, during the parallel sessions of the congress. Prof. Villalobos was also an oral presenter in one of the parallel sessions during the 38PCC.
