On May 4, 2023, the BS Agriculture students together with their professors and instructors, Ma. Victoria Seredrica, Melody Basinag, and Darren Gandas went to Brgy. Hamungaya, Jaro, Iloilo City for a half-day field trip in Western Visayas Integrated Agricultural Research Center (WESVIARC).

On the said field trip, while touring around WESVIARC, there was a short seminar with five lectures including topics about Mushroom Production, Tissue Culture, Goat Production, Smart Greenhouse (melon production), and Biopesticide Usage and Production.

Kyril Monteño, a 3rd year Agriculture student, when asked about what he finds most interesting among all the five lectures said “I find Bio Pesticides very interesting and significant as well, knowing that it needs further research in order for it to succeed in future technology.”

Monteño, also added “We should value the Agriculture Sector because it is one of the major contributors to our economy. Moreover, I also learned that education, skills, and learning never stop. It keeps on evolving and improving as time goes by.”
