CPU-CARES BS Agriculture Students organize a lecture-forum.

The CPU-CARES Bachelor of Science in Agriculture 3rd Year Students conducted a 1-day Lecture Seminar: Be part of the Green Movement for a Sustainable FUTURE on March 10, 2023 at Brgy. Sinubsuban, Maasin, Iloilo.

The said lecture aims to educate the farmers and residents of Brgy. Sinubsuban as well as the students who participated in this seminar training about Organic Agriculture including: Native Chickens, Mushroom Production, Oraganic Vegetable Farming, Concoction (organic fertilizers), and Vermicomposting. It was a great opportunity for farmers to be able to learn about the presented topics especially those who are interested in venturing into a farming business and farming in general.

“As a student leader, one of the values that I’ve learned in this activity that I could share with my fellow Centralians is to become a biospheric individual, who is concerned for our environment,” Lhyssa Marie Dobleo said, Governor of CPU-CARES.

The venue for the lecture seminar was chosen mainly because it is where the practicum site of the BS Agriculture 3 Students was located.

Gov. Dobleo also added, “I think Agriculture students should take part in these kind of activities to enhance their Agricultural skills and be able to apply it in their chosen profession. It will also be a way for them to practice their public speaking skills, especially as a consultant for the farmers.”

The invited speakers for the said lecture seminar were professionals from the Department of Agriculture VI and WESVIARC.
