CPU BSN Class of 2025 posed for a picture at the front of Rose Memorial Auditorium.
The CPU College of Nursing held a Capping, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony for the Class 2025 on February 10, 2023 at the Rose Memorial Auditorium. The ceremony started with a Prelude by Rona L. Idemne, MAN (Skills Laboratory/ Museum Coordnator. The processional included the entrance of colors and students of the BSN Class 2025. Rev, Roger T. Quimpo (Associate Pastor for Outreach, University Church) led the Invocation which was followed by the singing of the Pambansang Awit.
Dr. Esther Rose Romarate delivered her welcome remarks in behalf of CPU President Dr. Teodoro C. Robles. She expressed her warmest greetings to the CPU College of Nursing and mentioned the distinguished Inspirational Speaker.
Melba C. Sale, MAN, Officer in Charge, Office of the Dean introduced the Inspirational Speaker Edna C. Pelopero, BSN Class 1978 as an epitome of a woman of substance and character. “She has a wide range of local, national and international experience in the field of Nursing”, among them as an Administrative Coordinator in a big prestigious hospital in the U.S. in 1992. It was mentioned that during the Global Alumni Homecoming in 2020, Pelopero was candidate of Nursing, and won as the 2020 Global Alumni Queen.
She encouraged the students to “Keep your light shining at all times; by a strong desire you will graduate.” She was presented with a Plaque of Appreciation by VP Romarate and OIC Dean Sale. Weni Marie V. Braza, MAN, Level 1 Coordinator read the History of the First Nursing School in the Philippines.
The significance of the Cap, Lamp and Pin was explained by Dunabelle B. Magtulis, MN Level 2 Coordinator. Della S. Haddad, BSN Class 1978 portrayed the Florence Nightingale with a narration by Janette E. Yap, MAN (CPU Birthing Center Administrator).
Lena O. Giron, MAN presented the Candidates for the Capping and Pinning Ceremony. The Nightingales’ Pledge was led by Charlie D. Baldon, PhD- Academic Coordinator. Joy B. Lacson MN-Level 4 Coordinator led the Nurses’ Prayers. The BSN Class 2025 sang the Class Song, “Beam of Hope and Light.”
Ma. Regina G. Coniza, MAN Nursing Director, Iloilo Mission Hospital delivered her Closing Message, before the Benediction by Rev. Quimpo. The recessional followed.
Prof. Annalie d. Gilongos, MN was the Master of Ceremony.
