Congratulations once again, Central Philippine University for excelling in the 3rd CHED Regional Quality Awards! To God be the glory!

Central Philippine University (CPU) received five citations in the 3rd Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Quality Awards in Western Visayas held at the Urdaneta Hall of the University of San Agustin on May 29, 2024.

Out of 157 higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Western Visayas, Central Philippine University (CPU) has been recognized for garnering five citations in this year’s CHED Regional Quality Awards. CPU received the following citations: Model Implementer Award for Registrar’s Records, Award for Excellence in NSTP, Award for Excellence in Internationalization Initiatives, and Certificate of Recognition for the institution’s support to CHEDRO VI. The University has also been awarded a plaque of recognition for being the 8th Top Performing School in the May 2024 Chemical Engineers Licensure Examination (CheLE) with a rating of 80.0%.

The awarding ceremony was attended by Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, CPU President, Engr. Dany C. Molina, CPU Vice President for Administration; Dr. Esther Rose A. Romarate, CPU Vice President for Student Affairs; Dr. Irving Domingo L. Rio, CPU Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Florence P. Bogacia, Vice President of Finance and Enterprise; and other CPU officials.

Last year, CPU also excelled in the 2nd Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Quality Awards in receiving the following recognitions: South-East Asia Top 118, Asia Top 701-750 in 2023 of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, Top 9 Performing School in November 2022 Nursing Licensure Examination with a rating of 98.46%, 10th Top Performing School in March 2023 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination with a rating of 91.35%, Model Implementer- Scholarships for Instructor’s Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP), Best in NSTP Implementation; and Best Implementer of CHED Memorandum Order No. 6, Series of 2022: “Sustaining Flexible Learning in Higher Education.”

Through CPU’s dedication to academic excellence, student empowerment, impactful research, and community engagement throughout the years, it continues to set the standard for excellence in education and innovation equipped with the Central Spirit.
